Abstract
The electron-capture decay of 196Au has been investigated by means of a 4π internal-source scintillation spectrometer and a Ge(Li) detector. The L/K and M/L electron-capture ratios have been measured in coincidence with the 356 keV γ-ray. The exchange and overlap corrections X L/K and X M/L have been derived from these capture ratios.
