Abstract

This work presents the use of a collisional radiative model for the characterization of a helium plasma far from thermodynamic equilibrium. This model allows to calculate the value of the electron temperature using the population of the excited states obtained from absolute line intensity measurements. This method was applied for the characterization of the helium plasma produced by the “Torch a Injection Axiale”, that is a plasma far from thermodynamic equilibrium even at atmospheric pressure.
