Abstract

In the present work the electrochemical and fluid dynamic behaviour of an amperometric residual ozone analyser has been examined in order to evaluate the kinetic parameters involved in the cathodic reaction. Gold was used as the polarizable cathode and copper as the unpolarizable anode. A rotating brush of knife shape was used for cleaning the electrodes. Potentiostatic current-voltage curves were constructed and interpreted for runs performed in potable water and in acetic buffered water.
