Abstract

AbstractA brief discussion of new and previous data on the specific electrical conductivity of potassium, cesium and mercury in the liquid‐gas critical region is given. The observed results are interpreted in terms of Mott's theory of metal‐nonmetal transition in noncrystalline materials. The relation between the thermodynamic critical point and the metal‐insulator transition will be discussed.
