Abstract
Abstract A dosimeter based on an ionization chamber is described where the field-generating charges are resident and the radiation-induced charges are collected at polymer electrets. The electret ionization chamber (EIC) allows quick and unlimitedly repetitive readout linear to dose, and integrates the dose without any loss of dose information over a period of the order of a year. The threshold dose is of the order of 10−5 Gy (i.e. 1 mrad).
