Abstract

Objective To explore the efficacy of losec combined with smecta in the treatment of peptic ulcer hemorrhage. Methods 60 patients with peptic ulcer hemorrhage in our hospital from January 2009 to January 2010 were randomly assigned to receive combination therapy with famotidine and reptilase (control group),or losec combined with smecta (study group). Results The time to stomachache relief and time to hemostasis were shorter in the study group than in the control group, and there was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). The total effective rate differed significantly between the study group and the control group (96.67% vs. 73.33%,P<0.05). No marked adverse reactions were found in the two groups, except that one patient had mild chest distress in the study group. Conclusions Losec combined with smecta is effective in the treatment of peptic ulcer hemorrhage and thus is worth being used. Key words: Losec; Smecta; Peptic ulcer; Hemorrhage
