Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of phacoemulsification combined with capsular tension ring implantation in the treatment of acute angle-closure glaucoma caused by lens suspensory ligament relaxation. Methods Total of 120 eyes of 120 patients with acute angle-closure glaucoma due to lens suspensory ligament relaxation in Xinjiang Military District General Hospital of Chinese People’s Liberation Army from Jan.2016 to Jun. 2018 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.The control group, 60 eyes of 60 cases, received phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. The observation group, 60 eyes of 60 cases, were treated with phacoemulsification, capsular tension ring (CTR) implantation combined with intraocular lens implantation. Changes in intraocular pressure, BCVA, central anterior chamber depth, angle closure range and adverse reactions before and after surgery were observed in the two groups. Results The difference of IOP, BCVA and cental anterior chamber depth before surgery of two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05). The intraocular pressure of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P=0.000), and the best corrected visual acuity of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group (P=0.000). The central anterior chamber depth of the observation group was significantly deeper than that of the control group (P=0.000). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 1.67%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group (P=0.028). Conclusion Phacoemulsification combined with capsular tension ring implantation for the treatment of acute angle-closure glaucoma due to lens suspensory ligament are stable and safe.
