Background and Aims: Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are now used safely in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AF), while no sufficient data about their usage for left atrial/left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombi instead of the commonly used vitamin K antagonists (VKAs).
