Abstract

Multimedia capacity is one of the most important aspects of the website design industry, particularly with respect to sports, which is characterized by a large audience of followers operating on two levels, the method of content production and presentation, and the general appearance of the website. The present study aims to examine the effects of using multimedia features on users’ attention to home page contents of Arabic sports websites. The researchers devised an experimental design technique for testing the hypotheses of a multidimensional visual performance evaluation (MVPE) model. According to the MVPE model results, there is a positive correlation between the quality of the multimedia features and the degree of visual perception of sports websites. Additionally, the quality of the multimedia features was shown to have a positive correlation with the degree of visual attention. The results of the study in the experimental groups found significant differences between the ease of multimedia use on the awareness of news content on sports websites. Furthermore, there are differences in the usefulness of the information included in the multimedia features on the perception of news content. Additionally, there are differences in the general visual satisfaction with the perception of the news content of the multimedia features.
