Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aimed to study the effects of the WeDo 2.0 robot workshop on grade five students’ acquisition of the computational thinking concepts (CTCs) and their acceptance of the robot technology. A quasi-experimental method, One-Group Pertest Post-test design, was used. Thirty-five grade 5 students participated in a five-day (four hours of daily training) informal robot workshop in Oman. The findings of the study showed a significant improvement in grade five students’ acquisition of CTCs after attending the robot workshop particularly in three dimensions of the CTCs: Sequential control flow, Loops, and Conditionals. and a positive acceptance of robot technology.
