Abstract

In this paper, the effects of washing on the structure and electrochemical properties of LiNi0.83Co0.13Mn0.04O2 cathode material were researched. The results show that partial loose fine powder in cracks between primany particles fell off during the washing process. LiNi0.83Co0.13Mn0.04O2 can react with H2O, resulting in the loss of Li in the lattice structure of the material. This will bring more Ni2+ into the Li layer and increase the degree of cationic mixing. In addition, when LiNi0.83Co0.13Mn0.04O2 reacts with H2O, NiO phase will be generated. In terms of the electrochemical properties, the first discharge efficiency of the material increases after washing. With the extension of water washing time, the material reacts with water further and the recycling performance deteriorates further.
