Abstract

Learning a foreign language is quite common for children to improve their abilities. Moreover, teaching a foreign language to younger students (K-12) is also crucial to enhance their foreign language proficiency level in many societies. This review aimed to describe the effects and limitations of using Total Physical Response (TPR) in foreign language classrooms. TPR is a good teaching method to teach younger students (K-12) to learn a foreign language. This review mainly focuses on (1) the positive functions of using TPR (2) how and when to use TPR in an appropriate way (3) TPR still has some limitations.
