Abstract

Reynoutria japonica was introduced in Romania as an ornamental plant in parks and botanic gardens or private gardens from where the plant has escaped being declared spontaneous, and later invasive. In the year 2000 was registered in more than 137 localities all around the country (1). The species has evolved along Vișeu River becoming a problem that affected everyone. Reynoutria japonica takes important surfaces along Vișeu River which initially have been cultivated by the ones inhabitants affecting biodiversity.
