Abstract
Abstract This paper describes a numerical study of the two dimensional flow of linearly stably-stratified Boussinesq fluid around a circular cylinder in a channel of finite depth. The Reynolds number used is high enough for the vortex shedding to occur behind the cylinder in neutral flows. Attention was focused upon the interaction between the vortex shedding and internal gravity waves. The columnar disturbances and lee waves appear when parameter K is close to integers in conformity with linear theory.
