Abstract

Pot experiments were carried out to investigate the real effects of Dalapon and Amionotriazole herbicides on the development of mycorrhiza in seedlings of P. sylvestris. Despite their different toxicity, both adversely affected mycotrophy, confirming their toxic tendency shown in earlier in vitro experiments. It is consequently suggested that much consideration should be given to choice of herbicides, as mycorrhiza forming fungi, as well as ectotrophic mycorrhizae, are sensitive to these toxicants.
