Abstract

Introduction: It is common for runners to consider or be instructed to modify their running gait based on theoretical links between running biomechanics and performance or injury. This review aimed to synthesise evidence from randomised controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effects of running gait retraining on biomechanics, performance, pain and injury in distance runners.
