Abstract A grid of hydrogen-rich model atmospheres, including the effects of both line blanketing and convection has been calculated for a range of temperatures and gravities appropriate for DA white dwarfs. These atmospheres have been fitted to a series of interior models for differentially rotating white dwarfs of large mass (1.58 M0 M < 4.06 M0) to determine the observable spectra for such objects. Some of the spectra calculated are similar to the DC white dwarfs; some are similar to the spectra of DAwk white dwarfs; and others are indistinguishable from nonrotating DA white dwarfs.
