Abstract

A new graphical technique is developed for predicting the stability of predator prey systems. In this method the prey's productivity curve and the predator's functional response curve enter the analysis directly and independently. This method yields new insights into the relationship between prey productivity, predator functional response, and the stability of predator—prey systems.
