Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to measure the effects of the sex of delegators and their attitude toward women on their willingness to make assignments to men and women subordinates. Results indicate that women managers assign more tasks to female subordinates than to male subordinates and that male managers assign equal numbers of tasks to male and female subordinates. Findings also indicate that the manager's attitudes toward women were the controlling factor in the decision to delegate tasks to women.
