The Effects of Juvenile Delinquents' Gambling Behavior and Cyber Delinquency on Gambling Addiction

Abstract

본 연구에서는 보호감찰중인 청소년을 대상으로 도박행동과 사이버비행이 도박중독에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 도박문제와 사이버비행의 관계를 확인하고자 하였다. 274명의 비행청소년을 대상으로 도박행동의 빈도와 도박중독 심각성에 대한 설문을 실시하였으며 사이버비행은 도박행동과 관련성이 높은 사기, 절도, 갈취 행동을 선별하여 행동 빈도를 측정하였다. 분석 결과 도박행동과 사이버비행, 도박중독문제는 정적 상관 관계를 나타냈으며 도박행동과 도박중독의 관계를 사이버비행을 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 도박행동은 사이버비행을 매개로 도박중독의 심각성을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과가 비행청소년의 도박 및 사이버비행 문제 예방에 어떻게 활용될 수 있을지를 논의하였다.This study is intended to identify the relation between the gambling problem and cyber delinquency by researching the effects of gambling behavior and cyber delinquency on gambling addiction targeting juveniles under probation. A survey about the frequency of gambling behavior and the seriousness of gambling addiction was conducted among 274 juvenile delinquents from 18 probation offices in South Korea. Regarding cyber delinquency, the frequency of behavior was measured after fraud, theft and extortion, which are highly related to gambling behavior, were examined. The result shows that gambling behavior, cyber delinquency and gambling addiction have a positive correlation, and cyber delinquency partially mediates the relation of gambling behavior and gambling addiction. In other words, gambling behavior increases the seriousness of gambling addiction through cyber delinquency.
