Abstract
AbstractExposure of sensitised guinea-pigs to aerosolised antigen causes alterations in the lipid metabolism of their lung tissue. The responses of control animals exposed to aerosolised distilled water has suggested that these metabolic disturbances are probably a manifestation of a “stress reaction”. Pretreatment of sensitised animals with anti-anaphylactic dosage of sodium hydrocortisone hemisuccinate abolished this reaction.
