Abstract

The response characteristics of the radiochromic film dosimeters, nylon-based FWT-60-00 and coated polyester Gafchromic-DM-1260, were investigated as a function of relative humidity (RH) of air with which they were equilibrated, in the range of 0–94% RH. Studies were made for both γ-ray (dose rate = 2 Gy/s) and 10-MeV electron-beam (pulse dose rate = 10 6 Gy/s) irradiations. The response of the FWT dosimeters, unlike that of the Gafchromic, shows significant variation with RH. These results are in disagreement with the results in the recent articles.
