Abstract

Objective To discuss how heat -clearing traditional Chinese medicine liquid reduces nasopharyngeal acute radiation poisonous side reaction of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients during radiation process. Methods A total of 116 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients were randomly divided into experimental group (58 cases) and control group (58 cases). The patients of experimental group were given heat - clearing traditional Chinese medicine liquid during radiation process, while patients in control group were given anti - inflammatory mouthwash. To observe and then compare the extent of acute injury when oral mucosa appears and the dose applied in the two groups. Results Among the oral mucosa injuries, there were radiation dose injuries. The radiation dose of experimental group was 41.15 ±11.56 Gy,but the radiation dose of control group was 30.32:t:11.03 Gy.The comparison of the 2 groups had significant difference ( P <0.05 ).After taking heat - clearing traditional Chinese medicine liquid, patients in experimental group had not any adverse reaction. Conclusions Heat - clearing traditional Chinese medicine liquid reduces the acute injury of oral mucosa caused by radiation during radiation process.Meanwhile,it is easy to be produced and applied. It is so economic that it is popular with patients. That is the reason why heat -clearing traditional Chinese medicine liquid is worthwhile to be applied widely.
