Abstract
Flue gas products arising from combustion of waste oil show various effects on the enzyme activity. Samples of these flue gas products dissolved in aqueous solution showed no influence on the activity of malate dehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. However the enzyme activity of cholinesterase was inhibited. Therefore this enzyme can be used to characterize noxious emissions and is suitable as an indicator for the efficiency of flue gas purification.
