Abstract

Purpose: A low rate of ROP was unexpectedly observed among Hungarian infants treated with intravenous d-penicillamine (DPA), a copper chelator, to prevent hyperbilirubinemia. This study was conducted to determine the effect of intraperitoneal and intravitreal DPA on retinal neovascularization in a murine model of oxygen-induced retinopathy.
