Abstract

In order to survive in business world, an organization needs to adapt itself to suit with both external and internal environments. Once an organization sets up its goals, visions and missions, a set of strategic plan would be implemented. To achieve each organization's strategic plan and objective, knowledge transfer is mainly utilized in many organizations because knowledge transfer is a key to create an organization's core competency. This research investigates the effects of knowledge transfer among top management team (TMT) members on firm's innovative performance as well as examines the relationship of CEO's personality traits and TMT knowledge transfer. The proposed conceptual model was developed based on the combination of team learning process model, knowledge transfer processes, leadership behavior in teams, and personality traits. The methodology techniques used in this study included correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The sample size in this study was 211. The results suggest that CEO's conscientiousness, emotional stability, and agreeableness have positive relationship with knowledge transfer among TMT members and TMT knowledge transfer is able to predict firm's innovative performance in Thai SMEs.
