Abstract

Objective To observe the changes of serum endothelin, C-reactive protein and fibrinogen before and after the acarbose therapy in impaired glucose tolerance patients ( IGT ). Methods 100 IGT patients were divided randomly into 2 groups treatment group( n=50 )and control group( n=50),Two groups of patients make personalized diet and exercise scheme, Based on this, treatment group use acarbose. Observed treatment before and after 24 weeks ,48 weeks of two groups'Fg, ET, CRP changes. Results After 16, 24 weeks, the levels of ET、 CRP、 Fg decreased significantly in acarbose group, but remained unchanged in control group. 1 year follow-up, DM in the treatment group were significantly reduced than in the control group, The total incidence of cardiovascular events significantly reduced, differences are statistically significant. Conclusion Acarbose can ease patients with abnormal glucose tolerance vascular inflammatory reaction, improves endothelial function, improve blood coagulation high tendency, reducing cardioascular eents. Key words: Impaired glucose tolerance; Acarbose; Endothelin; Fibrinogen; C-reactive protein
