Abstract
First and third stage C. anthonyi larvae were exposed to 0–400 μg/liter of 20-hydroxyecdysone dissolved in seawater. The results indicate that following a critical period in the molt cycle the addition of 20-hydroxyecdysone results in abnormal development of epidermally derived structures. This response is both dose and time dependent and suggests a possible role of ecdysone in larval crustacean molting control.
