Abstract

The results of previous research on teachers' efforts in increasing motivation and learning outcomes in learning Islamic Education in Indonesia, until now, still show less than optimal results. Due to the ineffectiveness of the learning process carried out by the teachers and less professional methods used in the learning process given to students. This study aims to examine whether or not the use of Edmodo-based E-learning is effective by contextualizing and integrating the learning process of Islamic Education using internet technology, in the Blended Learning learning process. The research data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, forum discussions, and students' written evaluations. A mixture of qualitative and quantitative methods is used to analyze the extent to which teachers and students think about this online learning system and the results obtained from the features of the assignments that have been done by students. Researchers practised the use of Edmodo-based E-learning in the Blended Learning process at State Vocational High Schools (SMKN) in Jakarta. The results showed that the use of Edmodo-based E-learning in the bent learning process had not been widely used by teachers of Islamic Religious Education at Public Vocational High Schools in Jakarta. The results also showed that Edmodo-based e-learning in the Blended Learning process succeeded in facilitating student participation in online discussions and assignments, and could increase student interest and motivation in improving their learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that learning activities must be developed based on sociocultural theory and a communicative learning system approach, so that they will be able to increase interaction and communication, through the use of Edmodo-based E-learning in the Blended Learning process, which is applied to student learning processes, in education Islam.
