Abstract

ABSTRACT The education of individuals with intellectual disability should include professional and safety skills to become qualified for jobs and increase employment rates. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of teaching these individuals high-risk cooking skills with video models in order to learn to work as assistant cooks. The results show that this approach was effective. In follow-up after one, two, and four weeks, all three subjects retained the nine skills taught by video and generalized them to different settings.
