Abstract

Background: Deep brain stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus (STN-DBS) is a surgical treatment to reduce off-state motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). Although several studies have shown the postoperative effect of STN-DBS on postural instability, the effectiveness of postoperative rehabilitation is still uncertain.
