Abstract
Objectives The objective of systematic review is to critically analyse the literature and present the best available evidence related to the effectiveness of rehabilitation program on shoulder function of breast cancer patients after modified radical mastectomy. Questions The following specific research questions will be addressed in this review: 1. What is the effectiveness of rehabilitation program on shoulder function of breast cancer patients after modified radical mastectomy? 2. What is the best indicator to evaluate the effectiveness of recovery of shoulder function of breast cancer patients after modified radical mastectomy? 3. What is the best time to start the exercise? 4. What is the optimal duration of each session of exercise? Criteria for considering studies for this review Types of participants This review will consider all studies that include breast cancer patients after mastectomy that underwent a rehabilitation program aimed at recovery of shoulder function. Types of interventions This review will consider all studies that evaluating the effectiveness of rehabilitation program aimed at recovery of shoulder function of breast cancer patients after modified radical mastectomy. Types of outcome measures This review will consider all studies that include objective and subjective measurement of: 1. Range of motion (ROM), 2. Self-evaluation shoulder function status 3. Pain 4. Edema 5. Insight—attitude towards rehabilitation program 6. QOL
