Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of psychodrama strategy in developing academic skills and reducing behavioral and emotional disturbances among students with learning difficulties in the city of Hebron. The study followed a pre-experimental design (one-group pretest-posttest) to examine the effectiveness of the psychodrama strategy in developing academic skills (reading and writing) and reducing behavioral and emotional problems among students with learning difficulties in the city of Hebron. The study sample consisted of 30 male students from Al-Razi School who were purposively selected. The study relied on an academic skills scale and a behavioral and emotional problems scale. The study found an improvement in the development of academic skills and reduced behavioral and emotional problems among the students. This was clearly evident from the mean scores of the pretest and posttest tables, where the posttest tables had a higher mean score for the paragraphs than the pretest tables. This study can be considered the first experimental study (within the researcher's scope), especially in the local environment (Palestine), using a psychodrama strategy to develop academic skills and reduce behavioral and emotional problems among students with learning difficulties.
