Abstract

AbstractAdvanced business management courses in higher education mostly aim to develop integrated and high-level competency. Innovative teaching methods are developed to reduce the gap between knowledge and practice in recent years. Project-Based Learning (PBL) can reduce education-job mismatch and more suitable for transferring learned knowledge to real world practice. This study adopted quasi-experiment and introduced PBL in university business courses. Results from both quantitative and qualitative data indicated: 1) Practical training in PBL provided an opportunity to develop soft skills needed in the workplace. 2) PBL can reduce education-job mismatch and improve alignment with the needs of the workplace. 3) students learned more about their own strengths and developed self-confidence in PBL coursed.
