Abstract

Appropriate family function is associated with psychological health. So improvement of this ability could be an effective way to have optimal life. Then in this way, the main objective of this research was to examine the effectiveness of Problem solving and decision making skills on family function of women with marital conflict. So we employed a semi-experimental method by a pretest and posttest design with experimental and control groups. The Statistical population consisted of all women with marital conflict of Najafabad city. By using convenience sampling method, 24 women with marital conflict were selected and randomly divided in two experimental and control groups (n=12). The instruments for collecting data included the Family Assessment Device (Macmaster, 1993) and marital conflict questionnaire. The experimental group received 10 sessions of intervention. The Participants of both groups responded to questionnaires, before training, and At the end end of training. The results of Multivariate Analysis of Covariance showed that the PDS is significantly effective on improving family function of women with marital conflict of the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0. 001). It was concluded that Problem solving and decision making skills training could be used as an effective methods improving of the family function family function in women with marital conflict
