Abstract

Background: the general atmosphere in Islamic teachings is positive. The attributes considered for God are more encouraging than vengeful; "in the name of God", which is present at the beginning of doing every task, is followed by the two attributes "compassionate" and "merciful", indicating a positive attitude towards life. The purpose of the present study was to determine the effectiveness of positive training in the increased quality of life of the staff of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences with an emphasis on the Quran and Islamic teachings. Methods: the study is quasi-experimental, including an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group was provided with positive training with an emphasis on the Quran and religious teachings for six ninety-minute sessions weekly. At the end of the training, the two groups were asked to complete the given questionnaire one more time. In the next stage, after three months, a follow-up test was carried out to assess the durability of the given trainings. A multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) as well as descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data. Results: the results of multivariate analysis of covariance showed that considering the quality of life in the post-test phase, there is a significant difference between the two groups, which remained stable during follow-up phase. The results indicate that positive group training with an emphasis on the Quran and Islamic teachings helped increase all subscales of quality of life in the experimental group. Conclusion: This study was conducted with the purpose of investigating the effectiveness and stability of positive training in increased quality of life with an emphasis on the Quran and Islamic teachings. The findings show that compared to the control group, positive group training in the experimental group helped I ncrease quality of life in all its subscales. These results were also stable and confirmed in the follow-up phase.
