Abstract

Stings by Vespa orientalis (VO) can induce anaphylactic reactions. Since commercial preparation of VO venom is not available, allergists use venoms of other species for the immunotherapy of such patients without having a clear indication regarding the efficacy of this treatment. We set out to determine whether this practice is efficacious.
