Abstract

This study discusses the effectiveness of food delivery services during the Movement Control Order in Malaysia, which imposed restrictions on face-to-face business activities, including food services. This situation prompted businesses to employ food delivery services. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors influencing food delivery service and the impact of Movement Control Order on food delivery service. This study uses secondary data, which comprised previously gathered research data. Data were gathered from selected past journals, blogs, books, online magazines, newspapers, and articles related to this research study. Findings show that time-saving, discounts, delivery experience and closure of restaurants for dine-in are vital factors for choosing food delivery services. Besides that, the Movement Control Order impacts food delivery services by increasing the demand for these services, creating more job opportunities for delivery riders. In addition, the spread of Covid-19 caused the contactless delivery service to be introduced.
