Abstract

In modern society, people’s stress from environmental changes has gradually increased. Under this trend, diversity and flexibility have become more important for service industry workers to properly respond to customers’ diverse needs and demands. In the beauty industry, where human resource dependency is high, in particular, estheticians’ customer services and resilience have a considerable effect on the improvement of personal job performance. For this, their active attitude, positive mindset, and self-control are important. This study aimed to determine aestheticians’ resilience and job performance levels and investigate relations between resilience and job aptitude. Furthermore, it aimed to provide basic data on the management of human resources for the selective recruitment and education of employees through a resilience test. To empirically test the study questions, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach s alpha reliability test, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, tests, and ANOVA were performed using SPSS Ver. 21. To determine the effects of resilience on job performance, moreover, this study carried out multiple regression analyses. Lastly, the significance level for a test on the research questions was set to 0.05. The correlation results obtained through this study are summarized as follows: First, as self-regulation capability (0.563), interpersonal ability (0.676), and positive mindset (0.658) increase, resilience is high. Second, when self-regulation capability(0.634), interpersonal ability (0.584), and positive mindset (0.897) increase, job performance also goes up. Third, as resilience increases, job performance is high (0.658).
