Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of Yoga Nidra on patients with breast cancer (BC) during operations. Methods Sixty patients with BC who received operations in 2008 were divided into two groups, each group had 30 cases. Control group was received regular healthy education and preoperational nursing. The observation groupn was received extra Yoga Nidra. The indices of anxiety, sleep and pain were compared. Results There was no significant difference in anxiety and sleep between the two groups before operations. All the indices were not different at the first day after operations, while they were significantly differencen at the next day (P <0. 05) . Conclusions Yoga Nidra could reduce anxiety and pain of patients with BC, and improve their sleep quality. Key words: Yoga Nidra; Breast cancer; Anxiety; Sleep; Pain
