Abstract

The paper aimed to investigate the influence of UV radiation on the conidia germination and vegetative growth of the fungal strains Beauveria bassiana CNMN-FE-01 and Cordyceps fumosorosea CNMN-FE-02, potential biological control agents of weevils. It was established that UV-B radiation (λ = 312 nm) significantly reduces the viability of conidia, the highest decrease being attested after 30 min. of exposure. However, the radial growth rate of the investigated fungal strains was not significantly affected by exposure of conidia to UV-B rays (p = 0,443 and 0,349, respectively).
