Abstract

Macrophomina phaseolina is a poliphagus fungus, which is able to infect numerous host-plants (maize, sunflower, pepper,) and causes large yield losses. Our in vitro experiments demonstrate, how different wavelength light irradiation influences the growth of mycelium and the formation of microsclerotium. The habit of cultures treated by blue light and UV radiation changed, the formed microslerotia had a convenient sharpness for the data evaluation by CCD camera. The mycelium was degraded as a result of UV radiation.
