Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing health related quality of life of diabetic foot patients. Methods: The subjects consisted of 103 patients with diabetic foot. The data collection form July to August 2013 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Perceived uncertainty(t=4.30, p<.001), self-efficacy(t=3.14, p=.002), and economic status(t=-2.13, p=.035) of diabetic foot patients were identified as significant predictors, which explained 29.0% of the variance in health related quality of life. Conclusion: These results suggests that reducing uncertainty and enhancing self-efficacy may be necessities to improve health related quality of life among diabetic foot patients. The above mentioned results will be reflected in developing diabetic foot patients supportive programs.
