Abstract
Better drugs for the treatment of paragonimiasis are urgently needed (see Yokogawa et al., 1960). Recent work has shown that schistosomiasis in animals (Thompson et al., 1961) and man (Burett and Wagner, 1961) responds to treatment with tris (p-aminophenyl) carbonium salts. The background leading to the present medicinal interest in these substances has been presented by Elslager et al. (1961). The present study on lung fluke infections in dogs was done to determine the potential value of such substances as drugs for paragonimiasis.
