Abstract
The usual formation of ketone and alcohol under GoAgg II conditions [FeCl 3·6H 2O (cat.), H 2O 2 in pyridine-acetic acid] can be totally replaced by the formation of the corresponding mono-alkyl substituted derivatives by addition of PPh 3 and alkali metal salts.
