Abstract

The superconducting transition temperature of the compounds Lu 2 (Fe 1− x T x ) 3 Si 5 (where T = Cr , Mn , Co , Ni , Cu and Ru ) are reported. The fitting of the T c data to Kaiser's theory is presented. Among these transition metals, Mn and Cu behave like magnetic impurities while all others behave like non-magnetic impurities. The covalent bonding between the Fe and its Si neigbors is believed to be related directly to the non-magnetic behavior of these transition metals in the compounds Lu 2 (Fe 1− x T x ) 3 Si 5 .
