Abstract

The performance of an axial compressor rotor for different tip clearance sizes is investigated by a numerical simulation with CFD software NUMECA. The variable quantity of the simulation is the relative tip clearance. Three different sizes are 1%, 3%, 5% of the tip chord length. The results of numerical analysis show that with the increase of tip clearance size, the performance of the compressor changes obviously, the performance parameters such as efficiency, pressure ratio tend to decrease obviously.
