Abstract

The effect of thermal ageing on the tensile creep of poly (vinyl chloride) loaded with different types of stabilizers was tested under different applied stresses. The steady-state creep rate showed a dependence on the magnitude of mechanical stress, ageing time and the type of stabilizer. The steady-state creep parameters such as the activation volume, stress-sensitivity value and the viscosity were also affected by the above variables.
