Abstract

The device of the spike root jet gets worldwide attention due to its excellent performance on thermal protection. In this paper, the impression of the direction of the spike root jet on hypersonic flow structures and thermal protection affection has been studied. A small part of the new model to fix Navier Stokes'equation and the silly transfer through eccentricity has been developed. The results shows, with the same total mass flow rate and jet position, the jet direction has an influence on the flow structures and the thermal protection performance. The opposing jet has the best drag reduction performance and the oblique jet has the best thermal protection effect. However, compared with the opposing jet and oblique jet, the lateral jet has the worst performance on both drag and heat reduction.
