Abstract

In this study, the effect of the number of tube rows on heat, mass and momentum transfer has been experimentally investigated in flat plate finned tube heat exchangers. These exchangers were made of aluminum fins and copper tubes. Experiments were carried out on four identical flat plate finned tube heat exchanger, with the exception of the number of tube rows which was the major variable. The number of tube rows in the direction of air flow varied from 1 to 4. The results for the effect of the number of tube rows with the different Reynolds numbers on the heat transfer performance, Colburn and friction factors has been presented.
